Available stock for 2002 jeep liberty 3.7 engine knocking at cheap price Okay I have 05 Jeep Liberty with about 150000 miles on it I know for a fact I need a oil change since one hasnt been done for a little while So it could be one reason it knocking so Ive read into I checked all fluids and everything but oil was a little low so I added some in still making a knocking noise it seems to be coming from the back of the engine not sure what to look. Jeep 37 rattle Just been looking at this thread regarding the Jeep knockon the 37 V6 enginegearbox and thought I would add my thoughtsI have the dreaded knockor rattleon my 2002 37 KJI first noticed it app 2000 miles agowhen lifting my foot off the gas pedalIt sounds distinctly like a big end rattle and b eing a mechanic for 35 years I was pretty sure this was the problem. Engine started and run for 15 seconds at idle increased RPMs to 2K for 15 seconds back to idle for 15 seconds back to 2K RPM for 15 seconds return to id. Check also: jeep and 2002 jeep liberty 3.7 engine knocking Sometimes when i start it i dont hear it all untill i give it a little throttle then i becomes noticeable and will do it even at idle.
I always hit the remote starter and by the time I go out 7-8 minutes later the temp gage is at 14 and the engine knock. Not looking forward to replacing the engin e thanks.

Im looking at a 2002 liberty with 108k on the 37 engine. Average repair cost is 3680 at 129250 miles. I am not sure how hard they are on that engine but on the 25 in a TJ the hardest part is removing the fan shroud. The contact stated that while driving 45 mph the vehicle overheated and made a loud banging noise with the illumination of the check engine warning light. 2002 liberty 37 knocking. It now has 81000kmi on it.
